The Rundola - Telluride's July 4th Foot Race"


What: An annual 4th of July open recreational foot race, the "The Rundola" from the Town of Telluride up the front of the ski mountain, paralleling the gondola, to the ridge. Telluride Foundation is the host, beneficiary and organizer.


Where: Runners start at the base of the gondola on the town of Telluride side and finish at the top of the ridge. Runners and hikers will climb up the Telluride Trail (4,600 feet long, 40 feet wide with a 13% grade) to the top of the gondola. There is an elevation gain of 1,810 feet.


When: The run will start at 8a.m. on July 4th. Runners will ride the gondola back to Telluride or Mountain Village after the race. Awards will be held at the base of the gondola in the Town of Telluride at approximately 10 am.


Who: Anyone who wants to race, run, hike! There will be several categories:


By gender & age group (based on age on race day) kids to the top of "kids hill" (not timed - everyone wins!)Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category. The grand prizes for overall men's and women's best time winners are TBA and donated by Telluride Sports. Awards and post race party will be held at Oak Restaurant next to the start line at the base of the gondola in Telluride.
