Mission, Values and Programs

Mission


To improve the quality of life for the people that live, work and visit the Telluride region (San Miguel, Ouray and western Montrose Counties)


Goals

  • Provide financial, knowledge and leadership support for community groups
  • Attract and leverage assets for community investment
  • Identify and address unmet and emerging community needs
  • Provide a link between donors, non-profits, and the community


Strategic activities

  • Build a philanthropic resource for the region in terms of money, knowledge and leadership skills
  • Execute competitive and proactive grantmaking activities that impact our mission
  • Run capacity building programs that strengthen community groups to better deliver on their missions
  • Create and manage initiatives that address unmet and emerging needs in the community

  • Will have intense focus on the donor to best serve the community; serving our donors to the best of our ability is a primary goal

Reported on a quarterly basis to the Board of Directors:

  • Grow Donor Giving programs
    • Unrestricted and temporarily restricted income; year-to date
  • Positive Financial Performance
    • Program/support expense ration; investment performance
  • Long-Term Financial Resources
    • Size of endowed funds; Legacy Club members
  • Impact and Outcomes
    • Grants given; grants received; people served
  • Outcome evaluations of grants and initiatives

Periodic, annual and quarterly reporting to the Board, Donors and the Community:

  • Third party grant evaluations
  • Quarterly review of “Measures of Success”
  • Annual grantee survey
