LOCAL GRANT FUNDERS HOST INFORMATIONAL SESSION ON LOCAL GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
With 2011 again shaping up to be a lean year for obtaining grant funds, local nonprofits and individuals alike understand the necessity of obtaining financial and public support to make their programs and ideas a reality. With this in mind, for the third year several local funding agencies have collaborated to offer an "All About Grants" Information Session on local funding opportunities. On Tuesday, August 3, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Wilkinson Public Library, the Telluride Foundation, Town of Mountain Village (TMV), Mountain Village Owners Association (TMVOA), San Miguel County, Telluride's Commission for Community Assistance, Arts & Special Events (CCAASE), Just for Kids Foundation (JFK), and the Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities (TCAH) will offer a free-to-the-public information session on local funding opportunities for local and regional organizations, nonprofits and residents alike.

Local funders will each give a brief overview of their grant funding objectives and process. Topics to be covered include: the preparation and submission of local grant applications; policies and guidelines pertaining to grants; changes to programs and submission deadlines; and the application process. This informational session is not meant to replace future seminars, where grant funders will explain their applications and processes in more detail.

Local funding agencies strongly encourage residents and community groups to attend this information session to make sure they are fully equipped to prepare grant applications and understand the difference between all the local grant opportunities. This free informational workshop is open to the public and no registration is required. Please contact April at the Telluride Foundation at 728-8717 or Nina Kothe with the San Miguel County Commissioners office 728-3844.
