"Fourth of July in Telluride is an incredible experience for residents and visitors," said Paul Major, President & CEO of the Telluride Foundation. "The only thing missing is an athletic event, and we are excited to bring this new tradition to a fun filled weekend."
Runners start at the base of the gondola on the town of Telluride side and finish at the top of the ridge. Runners and hikers will climb up the Telluride Trail (4,600 feet long, 40 feet wide with a 13% grade) to the top of the gondola. There is an elevation gain of 1,810 feet.
Participants register in one of the following categories: Men 18 & under; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; Women 18 & under; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; Men & Women 50yrs plus; and Baby in a back pack. Kids 12 and under may register and participate in a race to the top of Kid's Hill. Metals will be awarded for the top three finishers in each category. There will be a grand prize for the first man and woman who finish. The Foundation also plans to raffle off prizes for all entrants. Please visit www.telluridefoundation.org/classic to register.
The Telluride Foundation exists to create a stronger Telluride community through the promotion and support of philanthropy.
